Mary McCarron – Clonmany Walking Tours

As part of a tour guiding course which I have just completed I developed a walking tour of my local village. I like meeting people, am very interested in social history, and I enjoy passing this knowledge on to others.
My tour is entitled ‘A stroll down memory lane’. In it I talk about what life was like in Clonmany at the turn of the 20th century. Various topics are covered in the tour; religion, politics, emigration and general living conditions among others. It is informative, interesting and sometimes amusing. Clonmany is a typical Irish village so I believe that this tour will evoke memories for many.
